Survey and Questionnaire Design

Program Assessment Design and Develop

Course Four

Surveys and questionnaires are valuable tools to collect data in the assessment process. The course makes a distinction between survey design and development of a questionnaire and provides principles and processes for the development of an effective survey of constituent audiences. This includes the determination of a response audience, strategies to enhance the number of respondents, methodology for analysis and how data can be aggregated and reported.  Questionnaire development emphasizes the importance of determining question content, types of questions to ask, question placement, administration of the questionnaire, common mistakes and the importance of pilot testing. Recommendations are shared for designing and reporting survey and questionnaire results.

This course equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively design, implement, and analyze surveys and questionnaires, ensuring useful insights are gathered to drive informed decision-making and program improvement.
