The evaluation process is an important part of continuous improvement and is a high stakes process where decisions are made based on evidence and observations on the attainment of student outcomes. This course describes the important elements of the evaluation process that are key to the continuous improvement of the program which leads to improvement in student learning.
Course Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the context of evaluation in the program improvement process
- Identify what needs to be in place to conduct a robust evaluation process
- Determine what actions need to be taken as a result of the evaluation process
- Identify the elements of a report on the program assessment results
- Explain the importance of the key principles of leading the evaluation process

This credentialing course is self-paced and allows registration at any time. Gain immediate access upon registration and start learning on your own schedule.
Expect to spend about five hours completing the course. Once access is provided and you have logged-in, you have up to six months to complete the course and six months additional access to reference course materials, for a total of 12 months’ access. You must complete all course work and quizzes with a passing grade to earn a digital badge upon course completion. Course introductory quiz requires a 90% or higher, the module quizzes require a 70% or higher and the summative assessment requires an 80% or higher.

This course takes place online via D2L, ABET’s learning management system. An internet connection is required to access and complete the course work.
